I wanted to share a post to share 10 reasons why I think YOU should start a Substack and make it the engine room of your online home. My book 'How to Build a World Class Substack' co-authored with Best Selling author Russell Nohelty is available SOON. Follow the project here.

I thought I'd write a post to share 10 reasons why you should start a Substack in 2024.

Substack has quite literally changed my life.

I started writing there in 2022 and haven't looked back. At the time of writing, Substack brings in an extra £25k into my business through subscriptions. I host a podcast there, two memberships and run Substack education masterclasses, courses and 1-2-1s. I LOVE the platform and it's ethos.

I wanted to share a post to share 10 reasons why I think YOU should start a Substack and make it the engine room of your online home.

My book 'How to Build a World Class Substack' co-authored with Best Selling author Russell Nohelty is available SOON. Follow the project here.

10 down to 1 let's go...

  1. It's free to start a Substack and free to grow your mailing list there.

  2. You can filter your subscribers by free or paid. On that note you can add paywalls to your work, set up a paid for newsletter or mixed media magazine.

  3. It's free to host a podcast there and you podcast will pull through to all the major listening platforms

  4. It's free to host video there. You can tease snippets of your video in front of the paywall or just grow your free subscriber base.

  5. It's a platform for sophisticated thinkers with it's own inbuilt social media platform called Notes where you'll find artists, illustrators, writers, authors, gardeners, wellbeing enthusiasts and literature enthusiasts all having online chit chats

  6. You can see where in the world your subscribers come from in a handy world wide subscriber map in your stats.

  7. Substack HELP you grow your list. At the time of writing 4000 new subscribers have come from recommendations from other people recommending my publications. The growth is infinite.

  8. Some really really cool people write on Substack; Elizabeth Gilbert, Beth Kempton, Emma Gannon, Stephen Fry and so many more. It's MASSIVE in America where it started.

  9. You can share ALL of your creative self; personal/ professional, photo, video, words, audio - it's all welcome and encouraged.

  10. I could go on but lastly I'll say it's EASY to use, never glitches and is just an absolute dream to work on.
