Testimonials, Kind Words and a Brilliant System that gathers them all while you’re busy enjoying your tea.

I was talking to a friend about the way I gather testimonials in my business and the system I have. I’ve gathered over 100 testimonials from clients and I'm quite proud of it
It was also born out of wanting to be organised and recognising that kind words can literally make my day. 🥰
When I created my Substack education community Sparkle on Substack I created Testimonial Tuesday for our members to remind them to gather and ask for testimonials for their work.
So every other Tuesday I remind them to work on their systems for gathering kind words and testimonials.
In practise this looks like;
Reading new recommendations and blurbs (inside of Substack)
Downloading paid sub notes
Organising kind screenshot replies and comments.
You can read more about the inbuilt system inside of Substack here…

In my wider Business ecosystem, here’s how it works…
A customer checks out a class or course, I have an automated email that goes out to welcome them (of course) and then two weeks later one asking for their thoughts on either my testimonial form or as an email reply.
Two weeks after that another reminder goes out.
I use podia email so it’s easy to set this up and trigger it
Once a year I email my WHOLE list of customers to ask for testimonials which catches more people too.
✨
The testimonial form I use
I made the form in google and I ask for their email address so I can follow up if need be.
I get them to check which product/ course they have.
I ask for permission to share their words and link back to their online platforms
I tell them in the body of the email it’s 7 questions so they know it’s short and not going to take too much of their time.
It’s incentivised so once per year everyone who has filled it in gets entered into a competition to win a 1-2-1 consultation with me.
Then…
Once a month I’ll check in on new testimonials and add those into my canva deck, share them on IG and perhaps Linked IN too. I’ll save some into my saved website section of testimonials too which helps when I'm building new pages.
Do you have a system to gather testimonials in your business?
I recently read about a new testimonial gathering system called Senja - it looks really cool - I've used it as a customer but not for my services. I'm just playing around with it but it's so easy to use and really helps with organisation and there's a Google Chrome plug in too. https://senja.io/
