Affiliate income was a total surprise to me when I started my business. I'd thought it was to do with amazon store fronts and lining Jeff Bezos pockets but NO!
Of course there are those types of affiliates but those aren't the type I use.
I always thought you needed a 'big' list or platform to start earning with affiliate income but I didn't and it was still MORE than worth my while to add certain links and share those with my audience...
I support people and products I care about that align with my business and my audience too.
Some of them bring in one off payments, others bring recurring payments.

Many creatives worry recommending tools will make them sound like a pushy influencer rather than a thoughtful guide but actually I really love it when other business owners recommend things to me.
“I don’t want to lose my audience’s trust.”
If your work is built on authenticity, you might fear monetising recommendations could damage that relationship but actually if it's something you are genuinely passionate about like a system, a book or a product that helps then your audience will be pleased to hear about it.
“My audience isn’t here to buy things. I don't want to distract them.”
Creatives often assume their readers only want inspiration, not recommendations. In a capitalist economy, we all buy things - you deserve to be paid if someone buys through your link.
“I don’t have a huge audience.”
There’s a belief affiliate income only works if you have hundreds of thousands of followers and it's simply not true especially with the high value affiliates I'll show you.
“What if nobody buys?”
Fear of putting links out there and hearing silence - I love sharing aff links because it gives me more confidence when it comes to selling my own services - you can test language. .
“It feels small compared to courses or memberships.”
Small commissions can quietly add up over time.
